Northwestern Pennsylvania Emergency Response Group (NWPAERG) is recognized under State Law, Act 227, as one of the nine emergency response groups in the Commonwealth.  NWPAERG covers the Counties of Erie, Crawford, Forest, Warren and Venango and the City of Erie with a total population of 477,583 people, over 4,608 square mile area, comprising of 156 municipalities.  Eight Subcommittees meet at various times throughout the year  to accomplish regional, state, and federal goals and objectives as well as, to direct Federal Homeland Security funding.

If you are interested in hosting a training or exercise, you must complete the Training Form or Exercise Form and forward it to the NW PA ERG Training Coordinator. Both forms can be found under the “Forms” tab. Every course and exercise must align with an appropriate Investment Justification and Project in order to be considered and approved by the Executive Board for funding. A complete listing of all Investment Justifications and Projects by grant year can be found under the “Funding” tab. 

Public Safety Agencies should first look for courses that are offered on the Approved Federal and State Training Sponsored Course lists located on-line at: https://www.firstrespondertraining.gov/odp%5fwebforms and/or https://www.rkb.us/search.cfm?typeid=7.  If the course you’re looking for is not located on these lists, please contact the Training Coordinator to obtain the TEMD 03 Non-Approved Courses Form.  Allow for additional time for these to be reviewed and an answer to be given.

Federal sponsored free training is provided by numerous entities in Anniston, Alabama http://cdp.dhs.gov/index.html, Socorro, New Mexico http://www.emrtc.nmt.edu/training/, Emmitsburg, Maryland, http://training.fema.gov/EMI/ and Bechtel, Nevada http://www.nv.doe.gov/main.aspx.  Contact Training Manager for more information on these training sites. 

Please allow for up to 90 days for review and a response, either approved or disapproved, and the reason why.  If awarded funding, requester will be notified via e-mail by the Training Coordinator.

NOTE: ALL TRAINING AND EXERCISE FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE TRAINING COORDINATOR AT LEAST 90 DAYS PRIOR TO THE INITIAL START DATE OF THE EVENT. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN DENIAL OF REQUEST. 

ALSO, ALL REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST DOCUMENTATION MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE TRAINING COORDINATOR WITHIN 45 DAYS FROM THE LAST DAY OF THE TRAINING OR EXERCISE EVENT. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN THE ERG NOT REIMBURSING YOU OR YOUR AGENCY FOR ANY INCURRED EXPENSES.
